JOIN US IN NOVEMBER
AS WE CLIMB TOGETHER
TO ADVANCE HUMAN ABILITY™
For the first time ever, no matter where you live or what your connection may be, you can step up in support of Shirley Ryan AbilityLab by participating in this years VIRTUAL SkyRise Chicago. We have updated our virtual event goal to be $500,000.
Together, every step we take will not only help us care for our patients, but will help them return to full lives. Shirley Ryan AbilityLab, formerly the Rehabilitation Institute of Chicago, is the global leader in physical medicine and rehabilitation for adults and children with the most severe, complex conditions — from traumatic brain and spinal cord injury to stroke, amputation and cancer-related impairment.
While the global pandemic has stopped us from climbing the 103 floors of Chicago's Willis Tower, it can’t stop us from accomplishing the climb at our homes or throughout our neighborhoods. Virtual SkyRise Chicago is your chance to get active, engage with a strong community across the nation and support Shirley Ryan AbilityLab.
Your generosity through SkyRise Chicago can help us Advance Human Ability™
How It Works
Starting the week of November 1st, we’ll climb the same number of steps that it would take for us to get to the top of Chicago's Willis Tower - 103 stories. 2,109 steps. You will have until November 15th to reach the top of the Willis Tower. After the climb, we’ll gather for an inspirational Closing Ceremony to celebrate our accomplishment together!
How you can participate this year:
Climbing 2,109 stairs or 103 flights
Walking or Running 6,327 steps
Step up 103 times
Cycling 3.2 miles
Your Support Matters
Did you know the Shirley Ryan AbilityLab is a 501c3 nonprofit?
At Shirley Ryan AbilityLab, we not only care for patients, but also help them return to full lives. To meet this goal, we offer a number of programs designed to enhance the quality of life for people who have lost ability due to serious injury or chronic conditions. These programs are unique, but many are not generally covered by insurance.
Shirley Ryan AbilityLab has incurred increased expenses and significant revenue loss during the COVID-19 pandemic. This event will serve as the foundation for fundraising and financial recovery. We respect the reality that all of the same concerns have added stress to your life, and so, we ask for your support of this event with humility.
Every dollar you raise will help us provide better outcomes for our patients.
Embrace the challenge and raise at least $103 for every floor of the Willis Tower
